I joined the LHi crew a little over a year ago, and we've just moved into our third office during that time. When I interviewed with Jack Eldridge and James Westwood, I had no real intention of leaving my previous role. I had known Jack for a year outside of work, and we had briefly discussed the role I eventually accepted. With Westy in town and one too many drinks, I agreed to meet for dinner to discuss the business and the opportunity in depth.
I was seriously impressed after sitting down with them, and although it was difficult to leave my former team and the relationships I had built, I felt confident in the business and the leadership I was joining.
Fast forward a year, and it's been an incredible journey. While I'd love to claim that we've broken all the records, my time here has been more challenging. I've learned far more about myself, how to excel in my role, and how to lead effectively than in any of my previous five years in recruitment. I'm proud to say that our team has maintained its headcount, even with some comings and goings. Walking into the office this morning with a small but strong Lawrence Harvey team that closed our old office with our record week was exhilarating. As the market starts to turn, and with my team's better understanding of navigating uncertain times, 2024 promises to be a great year.
We have a clear plan for hiring next year that is both realistic and scalable. Additionally, we've improved our strategy for approaching various markets and setting our team and new staff up for success. We expect to double our headcount, with a primary focus on MedTech, BioTech, LLM’s, Clean/Green Tech, and more. We will have openings for driven recruiters at various levels, from entry to senior.
Outgrowing two offices in a year while watching our sister brands (Piper Maddox & Harper Harrison) grow and perform exceptionally well, all while maintaining the close-knit ATX family atmosphere, has been amazing. I come to work every day eager to work hard, improve, and build our legacy because I am surrounded by smart, driven, and successful individuals.
